Hello! Welcome back to Maggie’s Doodles 😍 Yesterday, Sateja shared an autumn writing prompt for everyone to participate in! You can click here to check out the post, I’ve also shared the image prompt she made below.
And GUESS WHAT- my blog is ready for fall! I used the same image for the featured pic of this post as my blog background, and a lot of the accents are orange 😎🧡 Click here to see my blog in all its gloryyyy! (Best viewed on desktop, my boys)
ALso if you’re gonna do this epic writing prompt as well, I’d suggest writing yours before reading mine so it doesn’t affect your inspo, haha!
sateja’s autumn writing prompt : my response 🍂
The air is filled with distant bird calls and the impending arrival of winter. The breeze gently carries my hair, luring it across my maroon jacket. There’s smoke, just a touch of it, arising from the surrounding chimneys, like a group of old soldiers discussing wars gone by. My loquacious friend is coming to me down the drive with a new tale upon her lips. Her blond hair trails down her beige raincoat, painting it with twists and swirls. The mint gum I’d been enjoying burdens me now, chilling my mouth and making me colder. I slide my gloved hands in my pockets, which cradle them kindly. My friend meets me and we walk, side by side, back up to the house.
I loved this SO much! Thanks, Sateja!! I vaguely remembered ‘loquacious’ being a real word but forgot the meaning haha, so I looked up what it meant and worked it into the story 😂 I think my favorite thing to write (aside from comedic banter and riffing 🎸) are descriptions that relate to the senses! It really puts you inside the writing when you can imagine it for yourself ❤
