Get ready for a
new style of doodling! 🧡
Hey guys!! Welcome back to Maggie’s Doodles, the creative blog where I share inspiration, a funny viewpoint on life, and many different types of photography and doodles. Thanks for being here!
On Saturdays in October, I’m sharing my doodle interpretations of the prompts for Inktober 2021! 🥳🍁
Since I enjoy challenging myself and getting creative, I’m changing up the way I doodle for this series! I’m drawing the doodles in my sketchbook with my favorite Sharpie, writing the day/prompt next to them, then coloring them in with colored pencils. Then I’m taking pictures of the completed page and I’ll chat about them with you guys!
By the way, the way it worked out for this first post was sharing tomorrow’s prompt as well (the 10th). I didn’t mean to do that but I’d like to post these on Saturdays 😂
Ta-da!! Here they all are chilling together 😍🧡
Let’s admire them one by one!
When I read the Day 1 prompt (crystal), I immediately thought of amethyst crystals hanging in a cave! So that’s what I tried to capture in this doodle. I think it turned out pretty well!
The Day 2 prompt is suit, so I looked up clipart of suits and drew one I thought looked interesting. The shading turned out nicely! Day 3 is vessel, and the first thing I thought of was a canteen, since it’s a type of vessel. 😂 The pink heart on the leather makes it look girly and masculine at the same time lol!!
I got very creative with Day 4 (knot). I found an illustration of a knotted rope and doodled it as best I could, then used my favorite colored pencil (aqua green) to shade it in! I’ve never seen a turquoise rope before, but now it exists. 👍 Day 5’s prompt is raven (as you can see, I accidentally wrote crow lel), and he turned out SO cute!
The last one in this picture is Day 6 (spirit). I have no idea how I feel about this one!! It’s kinda cute, but it looks like a multicolored rock ghost or something. Eh haha
Day 7 is fan! I had fun drawing this one inspired by some clipart. It turned out pretty simple, but I still like it. Day 8 (watch) almost got ruined when I made the hand too small!! So there’s a weird bump to the right of the watch face, haha.
As you can see by the water pressure valve, Day 9 is pressure! I don’t know why my first thought was piping and mechanical stuff, but I like staying true to my creative thought process, however unconventional. 😂
Lastly, our final prompt for this first week is Day 10: pick! I made a similar doodle to one I made for Doodletober (which… actually hasn’t been published yet 👀 wait it will be by the time this goes live lol). I did give the little girl a pink scarf tho!!
Ok, this turned out to be SUPER fun!! I loved chatting about these Inktober doodles with you guys, and I can’t wait to see you again next week for the second part of this series!
