happy blogger’s day! ~ 3 quick blogging tips for you

Hi guys! I betcha can tell from the title that it’s a BLOG HOLIDAY today! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ‘πŸ‘

That means I don’t have to work/post right

Oh wait I totally still will

Welcome back to my blog! I found out from a few different bloggers (aka Eesh and Saumya – thanks, guys! ✌️) that today is International Bloggers Day! WOOHOO! Are you ready for a wee celebration?!

Yeah I’m posting twice today. But I just had to πŸ˜‚

I thought today would be a great excuse time to share some blog tips right off the top of my head! πŸ™† because obviously an awesome day calls for an awesome celebration. 🎊

Yeah how many times have I already said ‘today’ in this post hahaa

OKIE! Let’s go!

Let’s not mention the fact that I’ve been blogging for eleven years and NEVER celebrated this incredible holiday

You can’t know whatcha don’t know

Anyway time to get inspired! πŸ˜‚βœŒοΈ

3 quick blogging tips
for you πŸ’œ

1. Blog about what YOU love to blog about!

It’s tempting to want to tailor your content to what your audience wants to read! However, do you know what your readers love about your blog? They adore your authentic content!

While some posts will get more views than others, that doesn’t mean you should only write big hits. If there’s a series you want to try out, or you want to reblog a post of your friend’s that you really enjoyed, or there’s a post you’re passionate about writing, totally do it!

There’s a time to ask for feedback and write posts that your readers requested, which I totally support. But my main encouragement to you is to continue to blog in a way that makes you really happy!

Your readers will enjoy your blog all the more for it πŸ˜„πŸ’™

2. Create predictability in your content and blogging presence!

When your readers have something they can look forward to and expect from you as a blogger, it creates a stronger connection! There are multiple ways you can do this, so here are some ideas:

  • keep your profile picture the same
  • use the same theme/fonts/featured image layout on your blog
  • write a certain post series often
  • regularly read your friends’ blogs
  • write posts within your favorite categories often
  • develop your blogging voice/personality that helps your readers automatically recognize your style!

You obviously don’t have to follow all these. In fact I recommend that you don’t! πŸ˜‚

Great blogging is a balance of predictability and variation.

In other words, my favorite blogs are ones with unique content that’s tailored to the blogger writing those posts! So I know overall what to expect from the blogger, while also being happily surprised when they share creative posts.

3. Accept the way you blog, not the way you want to.

Sound complicated? Allow me to explain haha

Elon Musk was talking about this topic… kind of, although not about blogs obviously haha #hesanengineer

I’m butchering this aren’t I

Anyway he was saying that we can’t force a reality that doesn’t exist. There are situations where you have to work with what you have, not live in denial and chase a false perception of the situation.

Here’s how to get inspired by this as a blogger lol: accept the way you blog, not the way you want to!

If you’ve been trying to find that one perfect theme, but it doesn’t actually exist, give yourself permission to change your blog design.

If you’ve been trying to blog once a week on Saturdays but there’s a series you want to publish on Wednesdays as well, break that schedule.

If you want to keep posting but you’ve run out of ideas for the time being, let your readers know you’re taking a little break and brainstorm new posts before you get frustrated into burnout.

We can chase a dream reality as often as we please, but oftentimes that does not accommodate the truth.

Whether you want to blog more than you do, or less than you do, if you want to take a break or you want to keep posting, if you want to make a new blog or stay with the old one – allow yourself to dream! Don’t be the only person holding you back. πŸ’–

Thank you SO much for reading! I hope these tips inspired you today and I’d love to read your blog tips in the comments. 😌✌️
