Hi guys!! This is a post I’ve been wanting to write for the past few weeks. It keeps swirling around my brain and I’m finally gonna rescue it out of the blogging pot. ๐๐ (interesting metaphor, huh)
I have been hard at work this spring finding & developing my blogging style! *inspirational music plays* I discovered this was a thing when I got really tired of blogger burnout and what felt like unnecessary post-writing stress.
I tweaked the way I’ve been blogging for so long and took a different approach, and do you know what I found out?
We each have our own blogging personality!

I just finished doing a wonderful four-part series called let’s talk personality, which was really awesome to do with you guys! I got to know myself better, learn about my readers more, and I also came to understand that personality is not a fixed existence. We’re constantly growing and changing – which is epic! So depending on the situation and time in our lives, our personality often matures with us.
When it comes to my blogging personality/style, it’s been super interesting to experiment with the three elements of being a blogger: 1) coming up with post ideas, 2) writing the posts, then 3) publishing them!
Some posts are awesome ideas… then they’re not fun to write. Other posts don’t sound intriguing, but once I start writing, I love it! Still others are iffy ideas from the beginning, I’m not sure about what’ll happen once it’s published, then bam – the response and how I feel after publication made the whole thing worth it!

Blogging is not just about planning. It’s also not solely about the writing, or the response, or how we feel about our work later! It’s a combination of all of those elements.
Discovering what works best for me as a blogger has been incredible. I’ve learned a lot already! These lessons include success that I’ve implemented into my weekly plans, as well as mini failures that have taught me what not to do. I’m thankful for both, especially the ones when I stumble upon exciting and encouraging progress! ๐๐
I’d like to give a big shoutout to Diamond @ Build A Bears Furever! ๐ She noticed through my last personality post (click here) that the way I blog on maggie’s doodles literally doesn’t match my personality quiz results! At first I was like, well that can’t be right… of course I’m blogging the way that best matches my personality! Then I read the post back and thought about it… and she was totally right! ๐ props to you Diamond for helping me see what I couldn’t see myself!

I love posting regularly, but not every single day. I enjoy making a flexible weekly plan that includes pre-written post series, with a few available slots for awesome ideas I come up with.
I adore having titled drafts I’ll have fun writing in the near future. It makes me really happy to have a fixed blog design, then allow for colorful creativity with my featured images.
I love honoring my post ideas while also being willing to switch my schedule around if something exciting and new comes up.
These facts about my blogging personality and more are helping me re-shape the way I blog! ๐
I LOVE schedules. Planners and calendars are super satisfying to fill and achieve! But what I REALLY love, as I’ve discovered, are flexible schedules. They help me to prepare content I’m passionate about without it starting to feel like work! Because at the end of the day, blogging is my hobby, not my job. I get to make it fun! ๐
When the only posts I’m needing to work around are collaborations with other bloggers, blog events, etc, I’m providing myself with the flexibility I need to thrive!
For the longest time, I had the image of what ideal blogging self would look like. I was constantly running toward that, but my progress was stunted so many times because I didn’t actually want it!

So I would encourage you to look at the way you blog. Do you feel really happy with the way you’re doing it? Are there changes you could make that would make you even more hyped to be a blogger? ๐คฉ
Hey I know! Here’s a list for you to fill out as you discover your own blogging style. You can write a post with your answers, or journal it, or do the whole thing in your head! It’s totally up to you. And you never know, maybe you could find the way to answer them that matches your blog personality? ๐๐ ok I’ll stop haha
your own personal blog style worksheet
- Which day/s of the week do I love posting on the most?
- How many posts do I enjoy writing each week?
- Do I love series or standalone posts more?
- Do I enjoy announcing blog commitments, or do I benefit from keeping them private until I’ve finished/completed them?
- Which post/s do I love writing the most: quick posts, medium-length posts, or ramble-y/long posts?
- What time/s of the day are the most inspiring times for me to write?
- Do I like writing posts the day I publish them, or is it more satisfying to schedule them out?
- Are there any blogging things (i.e. writing types of posts, posting a certain day of the week, collaborating with another blogger, etc.) I haven’t tried yet, but I think I’d like to do?
- Which posts make me the happiest to write?
- Which posts do I enjoy reading later?

That worksheet should really help get you started on enjoying blogging even more than you already do! ๐๐
I’m quite certain I’ll be learning about my blogging style the entire time I’m blogging! As new post ideas come to me, when I meet new bloggers, when I’m doing new stuff in my personal life, etc, I’ll get to know how I enjoy blogging the most during those times in my life. It’s gonna be awesome! โจ

What thought provoking questions! They really made me think (for the first time) about what I was doing. Previously, I have just “gone with it” (whatever “it” is LOL). So far, I’ve never tired of blogging nor lacked ideas, but I’ve never sat down an “thought about it” before either. Thanks for the opportunity, Hon.
