Hello! I hope you had a beautiful weekend! 😄💛 after taking a little posting break over the weekend, I’m happy to be back with you today for this post! This is the third installment in the snapshots from my week series 💙 I love writing these so much! Let’s check out what I got up to last week.
Joshua and I went out and got coffee! I enjoyed trying Starbucks’ different holiday drinks in December, but last week I realized it had been far too long since I’d ordered my favorite frappuccino. I wanted to get the Ultra Caramel Frappuccino 😍 but the one they had listed was Caramel Ribbon Crunch. I could taste it somewhat (thanks rona), and the caramel drizzle was really nice!
Some new dresses came in the mail for Izzy! She was really excited when mom first showed them to her, and she was dancing around saying “they look so beautiful!” 😍💕
The first full day my dad spent at the hospital (click here to read more about that), my family and I worked together to get housework done, ran a few errands, and had important conversations about the future. It was a challenging 24 hours, but it ended up being a good-news day in reference to how Dad was doing! 💛 He was responding positively to the antibiotics he was being given and he was in good spirits.
Shortly before our morning got going, I hopped outside to take the little photoshoot pictured above, featuring my new water bottle (thanks Mom!), my coffee (which I can taste a bit more now lol), and my pretty nail wraps! I’ve really enjoyed wearing them after taking a few months off from nail wrappin’ 😂
If you need some of them nail wraps for yourself, the style I’m wearing right now is Popsicles! A manicure only costs $3, shipping is free + super quick, AND the quality is incredible. Go read this post for my full review of these wraps from October!
*not sponsored one bit, I promise, but I could totally work for them haha*
We all worked together and built new furniture for the dining room! Right when my mom picked up this crazy-big styrofoam disc that protected the tabletop, I was like I GOTTA ART ON THAT
So I drew a tiny face and Samuel drew one on the other side! When my mom was taking pics for us, she said we should make the face we drew, and the results were funny haha
HERE IT IIIIIS! I loved getting to help out and everything ended up looking so epic together. The tiny kitchen is adorable (I would’ve played with that when I was little, no cap), and the table? PERFECT 😍💛 the new curtains are beautiful and the rug really completes the room!
I’ve been working on building this super tooty (my word for cute 😂) family on Toca Life World! I love ’em, and I’ve already done a few roleplays with them so far. I haven’t created a baby yet, but he’s on his way haha
Random pic of my laptop (well, mouse) because I love splashes of color at unassuming angles hahah
Here they are visiting a haunted house after their camping trip! The dad thinks it’s abandoned but it’s totally not lol, so they’re gonna be in for a surprise when the little girl rings the doorbell and the creepy butler answers (I haven’t finished the roleplay yet). Would you like to see the Toca World houses I’ve designed? Let me know! That would be a really fun post!
Here I am working with my cute blog organizer thing because I had been struck by blogger brain 😎😂 juggling my dad’s hospital stay with responsibilities around the house, combined with making blogging plans and reading books and watching Irish YouTubers and playing Toca World with the girls – GAH. It’s a wonder my momentary crash didn’t happen sooner 😂 so to give myself a breath of fresh air and figure out what I want to do next, I’m taking this weekend off from publishing posts (I was going to post something Saturday, then decided against it), and Monday (today lol) will just be for this post!
¿Mucho mango? Me gusta el tango 😎😂😂 I don’t know what that means but isn’t it catchy? Joshua wanted to buy me a surprise Arizona to try so he got me this! It took me forever to get a nice picture of it before we walked into Publix, but there you go. He said quietly “so many pictures” after I snapped the eighth one lol, so I said “I do it for the one” 🤣 anyway I liked the drink ok, mainly because I could taste it like 35% of the way. So it was kinda fruity hah
My ponytail looked super awesome and charismatic and it was cheering me up all day, so I took a picture of it! It literally styles itself 😂💕
Izzy has her own winky shirt now! 😍💚 for months she’s loved seeing me in my yellow wink shirt (you can kind of see it in last week’s post), and now she has her own! It’s perfect for this month. It took me forever to get a non-blurry pic of her in it, which she thought was funny hah
Mom found this mystery at the thrift store recently, and I started reading it! I immediately fell in love with the narration, setting, and two main characters, SO if it continues like this, I’m gonna have this awesome new series to read! 😂💕
On Saturday I went on a me-outing! 😂🙌 this consisted of dropping off donations, jamming out to The Greatest Show Reimagined and Irish folk music, taking pictures for blog posts 😏😂 (more on that soon), buying books, and eating CFA and being able to TASTE IT! MMM! Life’s good. And when it feels like it’s not, it will be good again. 💞 Please, never give up hope 😂 (random inspiring moment there)
and here’s another random moment: my ability to taste is back up to around 75% 🤩, I could smell my lunch and a CANDLE for the first time on Sunday!😭❤️, and my other lingering symptoms are gone!
Oh yeah, on my outing I also got to go to the LIBRARY for the first time in months! There are two reasons why I haven’t been going: cold and flu season 🤒 and also the risk of getting stuck with checked-out library books when the libraries suddenly closed. That happened last summer and my mom and I didn’t want it to happen again. lol so they’re probably not gonna close now? and if they do, I’ll cross that bridge when I get there 🙃 I got some mysteries, inspirational reads, and some books for Samuel and our mom! ❤️
We had this bird feeder up last year, but I eventually quit filling it because sunflower seeds are surprisingly expensive. After taking so much time off, and with spring cheerfully around the corner, I bought more feed to refill it! 😍💛 I can’t wait to see the chickadees, finches, and cardinals that will rediscover it.
Thank you so much for reading! This has slowly turned into one of my favorite blog series! I have a lot of fun taking pics over the course of the week, chatting about them with you, then sharing them all in a post. It provides you with an interesting peek inside my life, and it also gives me a chance to talk about little things that I may not dedicate a whole post to! Let me know if you ever do something like this on your blog – I’d love to see it! ❤️
