snapshots from my week | handlettering, shopping, & reading

Hi! Welcome back to maggie’s doodles 💕 today I’m going to do a post that’s quite different from what I usually do!

Recently I’ve been watching vlogs, and I noticed something that typically sets vlogging apart from blogging. Vloggers will pick up their camera and film whatever’s happening throughout their day, which offers a really cool sneak peek into their life! Blogging is usually more structured, with specific topics and points that are presented. I love writing posts that way, but I also thought it would be so fun to share posts that offer insight into the real moments from my life!

So this is the first in a series called ‘snapshots from my week.’ I hope you enjoy it!

I’ve been the designated shopper for my family this past week because I was the first adult to feel well enough to leave the house! It was really nice to get out and see something other than the walls of our house lol, like when I went to Ingles the other day (pictured above). It was beautiful outside! And as I walked up to the store doors, a bit of nostalgia hit me. What the nice breeze and gorgeous sunshine reminded me of was last fall! And it brought with it great memories 😍🧡

A sweet friend of my mom’s sent over chicken noodle soup and biscuits for her, along with some activities for me and my siblings to do! She included a calligraphy workbook she thought I’d like, which was really nice of her. I got working on my handwriting and had a lot of fun with it! She also included different brush pens I had a blast trying out 😄💕 Anything new like this for me to do is much appreciated, because there were so many days there where all of us were sick and everything was starting to blend together. Something to break the monotony, however small, is such a joy!

While making a bucket list the other day, I wrote all the headings in ALL CAPS, and this revealed to me a wee weakness of mine 😂: writing in caps. I already knew it, but I became all too aware of it again. Especially after working on my hand-lettering in that workbook! So starting yesterday morning, I’ve been working on writing capital letters. This is one of those random things in life that gets rusty from lack of use or interest, and dedicating just a bit of time to it can get you back on track. hehe

Recently I have realized my love for having drinks in glass bottles! So when I spotted this aisle at Ingles I’d never noticed before, I took a picture, kind of for future reference. Once I can taste again, I’m going to try different drinks, and this aisle looks like a good place to start! (Although upon closer inspection, much of it is root beer, just different brands haha)

Upon getting home from Ingles, I knew I just had to continue being outside! So I brought my laptop out onto the front porch and worked on my personality post series (you can read the first installment here!). I had a really nice time out there! I watched some vlogs and made progress on writing that series, which was really awesome to do. Scheduling posts well ahead of time makes me feel excited and productive!

Another view at Ingles. Aisles like these are all I’ve gotten to see after getting out of isolation, so I’m very open to going other places that aren’t grocery stores soon. 😂💕 especially places outside!

These past few days, I’ve been starting my morning by reading in bed and making productive lists in my notebook! It’s been nice to do something different. I can’t fully taste my coffee yet, but it’s still comforting and a nice companion as I’m beginning my day. Oh, and my cute little hedgehog is there as well!

My mom got this cute little necklace for me back when she also bought the snowy owl! (I did a photoshoot with wee Hedwig here!) It makes me really happy that she got it for me, and I love how dainty it is 😍 it likes to flip around unpredictably, but its sassy personality is cute lol.

I was editing a picture a few days ago, and when I opened RookieCam, the camera turned on and filtered the view in front of me (my laptop)! I couldn’t help it, I had to snap a pic 😂 it’s such a nice sticker! And it’s very relevant to me right now, as I’ve been thoroughly enjoying reading again.
