Hello! โค In this post I’ll share some updates on how my family and I are doing. Then I’ll treat you to some cute photography I recently took with Izzy! ๐
For backstory, I got COVID-19 in the first week of February. Since then, the members of my family have all had it to some degree with varying levels of symptoms. I’m not going to give a complete rundown of what’s gone down – I’m just sharing how we are currently ๐
how we’re
all doing
Me: I’ve been feeling really good! My senses of taste and smell are still gone, and I can occasionally smell my nose ๐, but otherwise I’m great. There are moments when I’ll have a fleeting symptom, such as: my depth perception being flawed, I can’t remember something normally, my ears feel full (like they did yesterday morning), loss of appetite, or nausea, and my temperature doesn’t regulate itself normally.
Thankfully, I was able to go to the store for my family yesterday! I went grocery shopping and picked up a prescription for my mom from the pharmacy. My quarantine period ended two days ago, which is why I was able to leave the house. My mom looked up isolation laws for COVID-19 in Georgia, so I was able to confidently go to the store.
Mom: she currently feels the worst out of all of us. She’s having bad body aches today, along with ear fullness, heaviness, loss of smell/taste, fatigue, a cough, and she probably has a lower respiratory infection. I picked up the antibiotic from the pharmacy for her yesterday, and I’m glad that’s in her system because hopefully it’ll begin clearing up what’s happening in her lungs. Prayers for her would be much appreciated ๐
Dad: he most likely got COVID when I did, because he broke a fever the first few mornings that I was. But when my symptoms progressed and it became obvious I was ill, his disappeared. So he’s been fine on the virus front, and he’s currently the only person in the house who can taste/smell fully! What he’s been going through during this time is caring for the wound on his foot, which is a combination skin infection/chemical burn. It ends up looking a tiny bit better each day, but it’s slow going and he’s learning how to manage the pain and discomfort.
Joshua: he just started showing up with symptoms yesterday and today, and they’re kind of flighty. The same thing has happened with my other siblings, like they were kind of asymptomatic and then suddenly they had a fever, then the next morning they were fine. ๐ง at first I thought they were messing around and acting sick, but there’s no way ๐ because with this sickness, the symptoms do what they want! So anyway, Joshua’s feeling alright today.
Samuel: aside from having altered smell/taste, he’s doing well! I’m really glad he didn’t get hit with the flu-like symptoms like my mom and I did.
Elizabeth: she’s been feeling good! There have been mood swings over the past few days, but that’s more of where she’s at emotionally and developmentally than having anything to do with the virus.
Isabella: some achiness and tiredness, but overall she’s been doing well.
izzy photography
I managed to take some really cute pictures with Izzy during this crazy time in our lives! For Valentine’s Day, I got Samuel, Elizabeth, and Izzy fun gift bags with candy and little toys inside. My mom took this picture for us:

When Izzy came over later that day to play with me with the stuffed animals, I thought it would be fun to snap some pics.

Look at them!! ๐๐ Their names are Angie (corgi), Courtney (unikitty), and Janet (jellyfish).

It’s really hard to pick a favorite out of the three, but Janet makes the cut! ๐คฉ

We made a cutie tower!

Looks like Angie snuck in there

Courtnaaaaay

Angie all alone ๐ถ

Then we started playing with Peppa and Mummy Pig!

She was pretending they were flying around
Thanks for reading! I had fun writing this post and I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures โค
