🛍️ Buying second-hand instead of retail saves money, but it also helps the earth a bit by keeping items in rotation instead of starting the process over from the beginning. Do you buy items second-hand?
Yes I do! I really love it when I can buy something from a thrift store instead of getting it new.
There are many pros to this:
- you save money. PLUS.
- the clothes have already been washed before, so they’re super soft. BONUS.
- jeans/pants are already broken in a bit so they’re more flexible. YES.
- secondhand books have that awesome ‘I’ve-been-read-and-loved-before‘ smell. HECK YEAH.
- you get to support a cause you care about. AWESOME!
AND if you buy a shirt or book to try out and it doesn’t end up being your thing, that’s totally fine! Because you only spent 50 cents anyway :’D haha
It feels really great knowing that I’m getting an awesome deal, helping support a thrift store I love shopping at, and the proceeds go to a charity.
I’ll also help out by donating my own stuff there to keep the process going, and I get to come home with new stuff! 😍👍
