Hey guys! This is Maggie, and it’s another new day on Chickadee Lover Maggie. They just keep on coming, don’t they? That means a lot of new content on my blog! Woohoo!
Every Sunday I’ve been participating in Penable’s #AnythingIsPenable writing challenge! Anyone can participate and it’s a really fun way for writers to keep on writing. 🙂 ❤ Click here for this Sunday’s prompt! Another thing I’d like to mention about Penable is that Phoenix may create a free online writing courses. If you think that sounds cool go comment and vote on this post!
I hope you enjoy reading my response to today’s prompt! ❤

the anything is Penable challenge
#9: my entry
Celia gasped, placing her little hand on the glass. Her eyes were filled with wonder as she took in the sight before her, soft blue light filtering across her happy face.
Her older sister Anna grinned, appreciating the view with an equal amount of enthusiasm. She knew Celia would love the aquarium, and her genuine response to the first tank they came to was proof of that.
Anna knelt down next to the stroller. “Do you love it?” she asked quietly. For some reason, dimly-lit aquarium rooms promote a certain level of tranquility and reverence similar to that of a library, so Anna instinctively used her inside voice.
Nodding excitedly, Celia pointed to various sea creatures that passed them, smiling as Anna labeled all of them for her. There were many fish and a few turtles, all of them dancing quietly in perfect harmony.

A short while later, they passed through the gift shop. Anna let Celia pick out a small stuffed animal to take home, and the one the toddler decided on was a mermaid. It had soft seashells amidst curly blonde hair, a bright pink sparkly tail, and a radiant smile on the face.
“What’s her name?” Anna asked as they got in line to purchase the little toy.
Celia thought for a moment, then grinned and pointed at her sister. “Nana!”
Anna smiled back, responding to the two thoughts that came to mind: the familiar nickname which she adored, and wondering just how fun it would be to be a mermaid herself.
Thanks so much for reading! Those two sisters are so cute together 😀 ❤
What’s the last short story you wrote about? How long have you been writing stories? Let’s chat in the comments!

“For some reason, dimly-lit aquarium rooms promote a certain level of tranquility and reverence similar to that of a library, so Anna instinctively used her inside voice.”
I LOVED this sentence so much! The tone, the choice if words and the context; all of it fits perfectly!
And the story is a sweet one as well, I loved how descriptive you are!
Wonderfully ‘penned’ as always!❤️

Aww thank you!! 😍💙 I realized while writing the story how similar those two places are, and I love how that observation tied in. I’m so glad you enjoyed it too!
